|Below are pictures of my chipmunks, which I keep as beloved pets. When we think of chipmunks, most people think that they are just found in the USA... in fact, there are 23 species of chipmunks in total (belonging to the subfamily Taminae, of the squirrel family Sciuridae)... 22 are found in the USA while one species, the Siberian Chipmunk Eutamias sibiricus, is found in Russia, Siberia, Korea and Japan!! My chipmunks are all Siberian Chipmunks, (also called the Korean Chipmunk). They are so cute and sweet!
My chipmunk family started in 1993, when my first three were Chip & Dale (males) and Tiny (female). David G. Hall, UK....
This is Tufty. He was born in 1998, and was one of Tiny's babies!
This is Aurelius. He was born in March 1996, and he is still alive today!!!
This is Lucy. She was born in April 1997, and she is still alive today too!!! She was one of Tiny's babies.
Bushy 2 (in foreground) and Martin. Bushy was born in April 1997 and was Lucy's sister, sadly Bushy died 2 years ago. Martin was born in July 1996, and he's still alive!! He is a dominant male in the colony.
This is Emily. She was born in March 1996, and she was Aurelius's sister. Their mother was Fluffy and father was called Frantic!

Yes, Lucy (pictured as an adult above) was one of these babies shown here in this photo, when they were first out the nest, in Spring 1997....She is the baby in the middle of the picture. In that litter, there were 6 babies! Tiny was a very dedicated mother!
This is one of my earlier chipmunks, a female called Gudly, who was born in August 1995. In this picture, she is at the first out nest stage at just 4 1/2 weeks old. Her mother was Fluffy (same parent as Emily and Aurelius), but not the same father....Gudly's father was a beautiful chipmunk called Stripy, who was one of Tiny's FIRST babies....Stripy was born in early-April, 1994 !
